​​What is this invisible thread weaving life from one generation to the next… connecting childbearer to child? The child who then goes on to become a mother of her own. We are reminded that, at one time, both mother and daughter shared the same body.

 

We revere this cycle of life along with all it demands and all that it gives back. Some women reaped pain from their mother. In the end, they raised themselves and promised to do better with their own daughters.

 

Some had glorious storybook childhoods and still invite their mothers into their homes to help raise their own daughters. Most are somewhere in-between. Yet all remain vessels designed to carry precious life itself. Regardless of the condition of their personal mother/daughter relationship, the thread endures.

 

We choose to honor all these sacred bonds with visual image and spoken word. We also offer this platform for women to celebrate each other by sharing their own mother/daughter story.
